DeFi/Blockchain/Crypto Source Code

Apologies if this topic has been asked/discussed before, (if yes please point me towards the answer/discussion).

I just finished watching "Under the Microscope – The Gathering Crowd’s Crypto Portfolio, with Mark Yusko, Dan Morehead, Chris Sullivan, Matt Hougan, and Jeff Dorman", the last video of Day 3 of RVs Crypto Gathering 2021.

At around 43:20 Chris Sullivan makes a point which Matt Hougan agrees with... the point is, and I won't quote word for word, but he says that... you can separate the code of projects like UniSwap and Ava Labs Avalanche from the others... I think what he is saying is that by analysing the source code, you can define the the quality and character of DeFi/Crypto projects.

I am an individual retail investor and don't have the fund research capabilities of these guys and I also can't read and discern source code... I therefore would like to ask if anyone knows of any available resources that examine and study blockchain/crypto/DeFi projects at this level?

One more question regarding this video... one of the panel mentions a GitHub Bug Tracker or GitHub Bug Tracking system... Is anyone familiar with this particular aspect of GitHub or any sites/applications similar to on chain explorers. but for GitHub... something that allows you to track the amount of bug/commits/contributors etc of open source crypto projects?

Cheers,

Paul
