Breaking down why Lyn Alden believes the dollar will continue to erode (and what that means for your portfolio)
Rates, FX, and inflation - in this latest "The Breakdown" @Nick Correa and I explore these key macro forces and more, defining some of the key terms and ideas you need to fully grasp Lyn Alden's thesis on the "Fraying of the Petrodollar System."
Nick kept me focused on this one and we use several key charts, so I think we started off 2021 with a bang!
I've followed Lyn's work for a while, having interviewed her behind and in front of the camera, but still, filming this with Nick, I still learned a lot and it was the latest in my understanding and for Nick. I hope you too can use this on your journey of knowledge! #LearningTribe

What do you want to ask Lyn Alden?
Hi all, today I'll be interviewing Lyn Alden on the Daily Briefing. What do you want to know? Please let me know your questions. This briefing will be more timely and news-focused than her Expert View which aired today.
Hi all,
@Nick Correa and I bring you tidings and good cheer as we break down some of the finer points from my interview with Steve Clapham - specifically, the ways companies use "write-offs" and other techniques to hide expenses from investors.

Follow-up to my Daily Briefing intro with Weston Nakamura (📈📉s GALORE)
Hi all,
On the intro to today's Real Vision Daily Briefing, @Weston Nakamura shared with me his chart-heavy analysis on the growth/value, USD/JPY, and the woes of the Central Bank of Turkey.
Due to the limited time, we sped through all of the charts. But in this video below, Weston and I go in greater detail on specific trade ideas, as well as on Japanese retail traders, who Weston argues are hidden drivers of FX volatility:
@Dean W thanks for your insightful chart on SPX and BTC correlation (https://exchange.realvision.com/question/how-correlated-is-bitcoin-to-the-spx-thanks-5fcaa7041887b8666245c52d?answerId=5fcc253e8af60e097c910888)

Bonds video of the week - a little off the beaten path...
For this week's Bond video of the week, I chose my interview with James Litinsky, CEO of MP Materials, which owns the Mountain Pass mine. It may not make sense, bonds are actually key to the origin story of MP Materials.
You see, the old owner of the Mountain Pass mine was Molycorp. James' hedge fund, JHL Capital, actually owned senior bonds in Molycorp, and because these securities were senior in the capital structure, when Molycorp went bankrupt, JHL had recourse to the mine itself.
